This is not a signal to the extent of being a signal, they are referred to as Main Line Indicators (MLI) here in NSW they are used in Train Order territory.

Mikey Puttock General Hi David, the levers to the right are unique to the New South Wales Railways. Most are connected interlockings to an annett key in which you obtain the "release" from a signaller or area controller. In this case, it has an "operators key lock" attached to the locking (blue) lever, the black lever operates the points (switch). 7/14/2018 8:08:19 AM
