Oscar H46 |
Description: |
H46 departing platform 2 Strathfield for the City. These are technically a suburban train adapted to run intercity routes with the inclusion of a toilet. Initially, these trains ran to places like Gosford and Wyong on the Newcastle line and to Springwood on the Blue Mountains line and to Wollongong on the South Coast line Now they run everywhere that the double deck V set runs. |

C5-C1 at Glenbrook |
Description: |
Now we are making C set history with the only run of these cars beyond Emu Plains, 2 stations previous. Their A Gininan & Co cousins the K sets came uo here, but not these sets. These sets ran on the Western Line to previously mentioned Emu Plains Richmond, Macarthur via Granville, Regents Park and East Hills and on the Bankstown lines as well as the Olympic Park Line. |

C5 at Woodford |
Description: |
I guess that we arent at Casula or any other number of suburban stations. We are at Woodford, on one of the steep, tight curve stations on the Blue Mountains Line. |

Now, this is the only time in history that a suburban train of any set description has made it this far up the Blue Mountains with Springwood being the outer suburban train set boundary. |

V6 DIM 8085 & DIT 9126 |
Description: |
Bringing up the rear of V6 is DIM 8085 & DIT 9126, since they built the decant sheds and awnings, it has made taking pictures some what difficult. V6 is heading into the Up sidings to prepare for a run back to Sydney Central station. Decant is a term used here to suck out the toilet holding tanks on the intercity fleet. |

Between C1 & C5 Mt Victoria |
Description: |
In this view we have the multiple unit cable hooked to the dummy recepticle the buffing plates and the safety chains. These trains only operate with a main reservoir and brake pipe hoses between the carriages and the MU cable as hence the term Electric Multiple Unit or EMU for short. |

C1 or err K40 at Wentworth Falls |
Description: |
The tour must be getting to C1 with an identy change to K40? Well when there sets were built, they were an add onto the K set order with the onlt changed being that they were fully airconditioned and they had Thyristor or Chopper control operating system instead of the Camshaft control to previous EMU stock. They were the test bed for the Tangara trains that were also built by A Goninan & Co in Newcastle. |
